About this Event
For the Love of Reading! Valentine's Day Celebration.
We do Valentine's Day BIG here at the Grace Family Co-op!
You can dress in your favorite valentine outfit, make a box, hand out treats, participate in the book exchange and just get in on the fun!
It is important that you register by February 5th so everyone knows how many treats they need to buy.
Valentine Boxes
Design and decorate a valentine’s box not only to receive valentines, but to be in the box contest. Go as big and outlandish or as reserved as you like! See the forum for inspiration and amazing past designs.
The age groups for the box contest are: Ages 0 - 5, 6 - 11, and 12 and up.
Valentine Treats
Bring Valentine treats to hand out. If you're bringing candy, please remember - PEANUT/TREE NUT free candy only. Good choices are skittles, sweet tarts, rice krispy treats, nerds, star bursts, suckers, mini pretzel, fruit roll ups/snacks.
You will receive an email letting you know how many children signed up, so you know how many treats to buy. We understand treats can be expensive. Here are a couple options to help offset that expense.
1. As a family you can decide to buy enough treats for each one of your children to hand out to everyone participating. (e.g., 60 kids in total participating. I have three kids, so I buy 180 treats.)
2. As a family you can decide to buy treats and divide it amongst your children. (e.g., 60 kids in total participating. I have three kids, but I just buy 60 treats and give each kid 20 to hand out making sure they put them in different boxes)
Book Exchange
Homeschoolers love their books so let’s share that love.
If you would like to take part, bring a wrapped book based off the age of your participant. Place that book in the appropriate box and then grab a book from that same box.
The book doesn’t need to be new. It can be a well-loved book that you are finished reading. Also, I know that all of us have different standards of what we allow our kids to read. If you happen to get a book that doesn’t meet that standard, just donate it.
Categories: Board Books, Pre-School/K, Early Readers, Elementary, Young Adult, Adult
There is no cost for the party. However, please register.
RSVPs for this event will close 2/5.
Be creative and have fun!
